We are an active and vibrant group of families who have a member who has Down syndrome.
We offer people with Down syndrome and other disabilities and their families support of various kinds including the opportunity to connect with other families for advice based on experience and for good fun activities we organize.
Our Management Committee meets monthly to discuss issues and to plan activities and events. The meetings are held at 7.00pm on the first Monday of each month. Contact the secretary for the meeting venue.
All members are welcome to attend these meetings and have their say.
A monthly Newsletter keeps members informed of what is planned and reports on what has already taken place.
The Group was formed in 1989 in Toowoomba by a small group of parents of children who had been born with Down syndrome.
Today the Group has a membership of over 80 families from Toowoomba, the Darling Downs and Lockyer Valley and an area extending as far west as Miles and St George and as far south as Stanthorpe.
We are a non-funded, not-for-profit organization depending on annual membership fees ($20 per family) and fund-raising efforts.
